The Incident Data eXchange (IDX) is the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) safety and security incident data management program.

The IDX program is a worldwide, aggregated, de-identified database of incident reports including flight operations, cabin, ground operations safety and security occurrences. It offers a secure environment providing participants with a seamless experience to view aggregated data against standards and benchmarked with other counterparts.

Safety and security information is shown on key performance indicators, helping IDX participants to benchmark their own performance and establish safety performance targets in accordance with ICAO requirements for Safety Management Systems (SMS).

By using the Q5 software’s integration tool, the relevant information collected in the Q5 SMS software can now be seamlessly submitted to IATA’s IDX program with all the correct formatting intact.

There are many types of Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit for airports, which designate the areas where the holder is authorized to drive.

An Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP) certifies airport employees to operate vehicles and equipment airside. This includes, aprons, taxiways or runways, depending on the AVOP type. Tracking all of this information is critical to the successful running of an airport’s safety management program.

With the Q5 SMS software, an airport can more efficiently keep track of their issued permits, and associated certifications of both their personnel and the various equipment.

For personnel, this includes related training certifications, expiry dates, driver’s licenses, endorsements, related documents and infraction tickets.

For equipment, the software is able to track insurance, inspection reports, vehicle registrations and copies of decals.

No longer does an safety officer have to track all of this information in excel spreadsheets and document folders. Also, it enables the safety officer to significantly reduce the amount of time to run data reports. Applicable Q5SMS AVOP reports can now be obtained in seconds, not hours, or even possibly days through the manual paper/excel process.

The Q5 software also provides data reporting for tracking expiry dates for all of the above.
